YUCAIPA, San Bernardino Countyย โ€” The Wildlands Conservancy is pleased to announce its Artistโ€™s Palette wildflower venue โ€˜Sendero del Solโ€™ or โ€˜Trail of the Sunโ€™ is now in bloom atย Oak Glen Preserveโ€™s Southern California Montane Botanic Garden. This 6-acre wildflower venue features a โ€œsunโ€ with 100-foot rays comprised of native yellow and white wildflower species โ€”ย tidytips, fiddleneck, popcorn flowers and gilia โ€” surrounded by a blue-purple โ€œskyโ€ of baby blue-eyes, desert bells, purple owlโ€™s-clover, globe gilia and tansy-leaved phacelia.

โ€œThe purple owlโ€™s clover is doing particularly well. If you look closely, one can see the little owlโ€™s heads, with the projecting flowers being the owlโ€™s eyes and ears. Combined with the sky-blue baby blue eyes, they make a beautiful โ€œskyโ€ around the yellow โ€œsunโ€ on the Artistโ€™s Palette venue.โ€ย  โ€” Garden Director Tim Krantz, The Wildlands Conservancy

A stunning sight to behold for nature lovers and wildflower enthusiasts,ย this spectacular bloom will continue through the month of June.ย Visitors can walk meandering paths throughout the Artistโ€™s Palette to view an array of native wildflowers. Visitors may also choose to walk theย 2.5-mile Stream Trail loopย nearby along a creek through the black oak and box elder woodlands, stopping for cold apple cider and apple pie afterward at Los Rios Rancho.

Oak Glen Preserve and its Southern California Montane Botanic Garden are open daily from 8 am to 5:30 pm located at 39611 Oak Glen Road in Oak Glen, CA 92399. Sycamore tree-shaded picnic tables are located throughout the garden. Parking and admission are free.
