Wildflower Display Bursts into Bloom at Oak Glen Preserve

OAK GLEN, Ca. — Oak Glen, CA — The Wildlands Conservancy is thrilled to announce that the Artist’s Palette wildflower display at the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden is now in full bloom and open to the public. Spanning six vibrant acres within Oak Glen Preserve, this seasonal venue invites visitors to stroll among brilliant bands of native wildflowers.
While lower elevations across Southern California are beginning to lose the color of spring, the Botanic Garden — situated at nearly a mile in elevation — has come into peak bloom. The result is a dazzling late-spring display that draws visitors of all ages to behold the beauty of the season.
Located at the heart of Oak Glen Preserve in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden features 13 unique venues showcasing native plant habitats, the Children’s Outdoor Discovery Center, and miles of scenic trails through oak woodlands and montane chaparral. Oak Glen Preserve welcomes more than half a million visitors annually and is one of the most beloved destinations in The Wildlands Conservancy’s preserve system.
“The Artist’s Palette is a celebration of the incredible biodiversity of Southern California’s mountains and valleys,” said Dr. Tim Krantz, conservation director for The Wildlands Conservancy. “Every bloom in the garden represents not only beauty, but a story of native ecology and thoughtful stewardship.”
As always, access to the Artist’s Palette and all areas of Oak Glen Preserve is free of charge. The Wildlands Conservancy is proud to offer free outdoor programs for families and schools year-round, connecting children and adults alike to the natural beauty of Southern California.
“We love seeing families and hikers experience this landscape in bloom,” added Elba Mora, the conservancy’s outdoor education director for Oak Glen Preserve. “It’s a powerful reminder of how nature inspires wonder — and why free access to places like this matters.”
