VOLUNTEERS
The Spring Nature Festival is Wind Wolves Preserve’s largest event, and we rely on a team of volunteers for it to run smoothly! Volunteers help us run booths and manage visitation. All volunteers will be provided a festival t-shirt and lunch from one of our food vendors!
Volunteers must be 18 or older for most shifts and able to commit to an entire shift.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wind Wolves Preserve is a nature preserve and all features, including wildflowers, are protected. Please do not remove anything, living or nonliving, from the Preserve. Do not approach wildlife.
Wind Wolves Preserve is a LEAVE NO TRACE facility, meaning we ask visitors to limit their impact on the land. We expect all festival-goers to stay on trail and pack out (take home) all trash and litter. Visit the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics website for additional information about Leave No Trace principles or ask a staff member.

The Spring Nature Festival is held at The Wildlands Conservancy’s Wind Wolves Preserve, located at 16019 Maricopa Highway in Bakersfield, California. Programs will be offered at various locations on the preserve. See the Festival Activities section for specific details.

Wind Wolves Preserve will be open from 8 am to 7 pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, dogs are welcome but must remain on leash at all times.

No, all activities are either ongoing or first-come, first-served.

The Wildlands Conservancy does not charge for activities, entry, or parking, so the Spring Nature Festival is absolutely free! Donations are certainly appreciated!

Yes, there will be a limited number of local food vendors at the preserve during the festival stationed at the Administrative Center. Food will be sold between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
We also recommend packing snacks and water.

Festival booths will be located on relatively flat, grassy terrain just outside the Administrative Center. Visitors are advised to watch their footing at creek crossings and in grassy areas, where squirrels are known to burrow.

The busiest day for the festival is Saturday, particularly between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm.

Spanish translations will be available at select booths, as well as most Reptile Presentations and the Guided Hikes.
