SUMMER WEEKEND RESERVATIONS

To ensure the safety of our visitors and the preservation of the Wild and Scenic Whitewater River, we are implementing a summer weekend reservation system in response to the Riverside County Fire Closure Order. Whitewater Preserve strives to provide free recreational access to the beautiful Wild and Scenic Whitewater River. This reservation system encourages visitor safety, respect for nature, and adherence to these fire closure safeguards. The Whitewater Preserve remains open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, weather permitting, with no reservations required.

SUMMER RULES AND REGULATIONS

DOS

  • Picnics in the Park only

  • Propane cooking stoves and grills only in the park 

  • Bring trash bags to take your waste (there are no trash receptacles on the preserve)  

  • Swimming at the river and wading pond

  • Dogs on a leash and under control. Be mindful of hot temperatures and hot pavement for pets.

  • Umbrellas, folding chairs, and wagons are welcome.

DON’TS

  • No fires of any kind, including charcoal grills 

  • Do not leave trash or food unattended.

  • No alcohol or smoking

  • No amplified audio

  • No fishing or collecting

  • No EZ-Up tents

  • No drones

  • No bicycles/scooters

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION

All weekend day visit reservations are subject to cancellation due to hazardous weather conditions. Our staff will contact you if we need to cancel your reservation.  Plan ahead!  View current weather conditions and weather forecasts below.

Reservations must be made by 5:00 pm on Wednesday before the weekend requested.

The request must be made by 5:00 pm on Wednesday before the weekend requested. You can expect to receive a response email within 48hrs.
