“I love to paint and hike at the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve. The other day I was painting when I heard an enormous splash in the river. A large white and black raptor emerged from the water with a fish in its talons. It’s so neat that the wildlife accepts me in their territory and feel totally uninhibited by my presence. Visiting the preserve allows me to feel like I’m truly part of nature.”
