SUMMARY:Guided Hike Down Siberia Creek Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join a ranger for a guided hike at The Wildlands Conservancy’s Bluff Lake Reserve down the beautiful Siberia Creek Trail. We will start at Bluff Lake\, talking about its historical significance and TWC’s ongoing conservation efforts and rewilding projects in the area. From there\, we will venture out into the National Forest to check out the Champion Lodgepole Pine\, the largest measured lodgepole in North America\, then proceed down the Siberia Creek Trail to the Gunsight\, a vista that overlooks Bear Valley\, with views of Mount Baldy and the Santa Ana River watershed. \nHow to Get to Bluff Lake \nNOTE: DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS’ DIRESCTIONS– the algorithm will route you the long way\, 3+ hour drive from Big Bear\, not up Mill Creek Rd.  \nOn Big Bear Blvd (Hwy 18) west of the City of Big Bear Lake\, turn on either Mill Creek Road (near the Alpine Slide) or Tulip Lane (on the west side). At Oak Knoll Lodge\, Mill Creek Rd continues uphill;  proceed up the road\, which is also Forest Service Road 2N10. After about a mile the pavement ends and becomes an improved gravel road (passenger car accessible).   \nFollow the 2N10 another 2.6 miles to the junction with Forest Service Rd 2N86 and bear left.  In approximately a ½ mile\, look for the sign on the right: “Bluff Lake Reserve ½ →” and turn right on the access road (Bluff Lake Rd in Google Maps) and proceed another ½ mile to the main parking area.   \nWe will meet at the main parking lot in the south side of the preserve (NOT the north gate parking lot with the cabins).  \n
