DESCRIPTION:Join us on this 5 mile hike overlooking the Sonoma Coast as we share about the history of the Sonoma Coast and Jenner Headlands including the indiginous period\, colonization\, ranching\, logging and more modern developments such as our local environmental and conservation movements whose impacts spread far and wide. \nThis is a moderately difficult 5 mile hike with 1\,000′ of elevation gain. \nSuggested items to bring \n\nWater\nClosed toed hiking shoes\nHat for sun\nHiking poles\nLayers for variable weather (sun/fog/wind)\n\n

SUMMARY:Stargazing Hike (New Moon): Red-Tailed Trail
DESCRIPTION:RESERVATIONS OPEN JUNE 27TH AT 8 AM.  \nMarvel at the night sky during a star-themed hike beneath the new moon! This hike starts at the Wind Wolves Preserve Administrative Center and is an easy\, 1.2-mile loop along the Red-Tailed Trail\, recommended for ages 10 and up (minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian). Space is limited – reservations are required. You can register up to 3 people. Event is subject to cancellation due to adverse weather conditions\, including high heat warnings. This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program\, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks\, Office of Grants and Local Services. \nCHECK IN \nOnly registered participants will be able to attend (no walk-ups). Please plan to arrive between 7:45 pm and 8:15 pm for check in.  After 8:15 pm\, the main entrance gates will be locked and no additional participants will be admitted.
