The Wildlands Conservancy's Wind Wolves Preserve proudly hosted its third annual fundraiser series, “Child in the Wild,” on November 3, 2018.

Proceeds from the fundraiser supported Wind Wolves Preserve’s award-winning outdoor education programs and weekend interpretive programs.

The exclusive evening event featured Latin vocalist/guitarist Mauro Vizcarro and an opportunity drawing, while guests enjoyed tasty hors d'oeuvres and desserts, accompanied with a selection of drinks and regional wine. Guest speakers Michael Coleman, Fairfax District Superintendent, and MaryAnn Barter, Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation from Fairfax District, spoke on behalf of the camping programs that Fairfax District students participate in during each Spring, and asserted if there was a donor with $100k in audience, Wind Wolves’ programs would be a great place to give! We concluded in vibrant delight as the sunset behind the Temblors provided a remarkable end to our evening!

Proceeds from the event benefit children in Kern County and the surrounding area. Nearly 187,000 children have participated in Wind Wolves Preserve's award-winning outdoor education programs. These programs are offered free of charge so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature.
