There lies a transcendence amid rocky crags, pastoral meadows and solitary sands that the world's great art, music and literature have attempted to capture. Indeed, this is why the poets, prophets and redeemers of humanity sought the wilderness.

The Wildlands Conservancy, in its own way, joins the struggle with people around the globe to preserve the fountain of this transcendence - the natural world. By opening our preserves to the public, and especially through our programs for children, we trust that people will hear from stars and streams and voices more eloquent than our own.

The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC) has preserved more land in California with private funds than any other conservation organization. TWC owns the largest nonprofit preserve system in California which includes our 97,000 acre Wind Wolves Preserve and our 33,000 Sand to Snow Preserve System.

The Wildlands Conservancy's dual mission is to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth, and to fund programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature. TWC funds more free outdoor education programs for youth than any other nonprofit organization in Southern California.
